Terms of Use

Last updated 30 August 2026. By using seoultourism.org you accept the terms below. They are deliberately short, and the part that actually matters to a traveller is the first section.

Verify anything time-sensitive before you rely on it

The guides here are researched carefully and dated, but Seoul changes faster than any publishing schedule. Palace and museum hours move between summer and winter schedules and each site closes on a different weekday. Subway and bus fares, T-money terms and taxi rates are set by operators and change without notice. Cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhoods we cover most closely — Seongsu, Yeonnam-dong, Ikseon-dong, Hongdae — open and close constantly. Prices are quoted in Korean won as at the date we checked them, and the exchange rate you get will be its own thing entirely.

So treat this site as a starting point for planning, not as a booking confirmation. Anything you’d be upset to be wrong about — an admission price, a last train, a closing day, a ticket rule — check against the operator on the day. We do not warrant that any information here is current or complete, and we are not liable for a trip that goes sideways because something changed after we published.

Entry requirements are not our department

Nothing on this site is immigration, visa or K-ETA advice. Those rules depend on your nationality and change frequently. Take them from Korean immigration authorities or your nearest Korean embassy or consulate, and from nobody else.

Not professional advice

Some of our guides touch on things that need a professional. The K-beauty and clinic guides, the jjimjilbang and spa guides and anything covering treatments are travel journalism, not medical advice — talk to a doctor before booking a procedure abroad. Guides mentioning tax refunds, currency or costs are not financial advice. Guides covering hiking in Bukhansan or the Han River parks describe conditions in general terms and cannot account for the weather, the trail or your own fitness on the day.

We have no commercial relationship with anywhere we mention

We are not a travel agency, tour operator or booking platform. We make no bookings, take no payments, and hold no arrangement with any hotel, restaurant, tour or venue named in these guides. If something you booked goes wrong, your contract is with that business and we cannot intervene.

Recommendations here are not for sale. No business has paid to appear in a guide, and no listing has been influenced by payment. Should we ever earn commission on a link, it will be disclosed on the guide carrying it.

External links

We link out to official Korean government, tourism and transit sources because they are the best answer available. We do not control those sites, several of which are Korean-language, and a link is not an endorsement of anything on them.

Our content

The text on this site is ours and is protected by copyright. Read it, print it, save it, and take it to Seoul on your phone — that’s what it’s for. Quote a paragraph or two with a link back if you’re writing something. What you may not do is republish guides in whole or in substantial part, on a website or anywhere else, or feed the archive into a dataset or model. Ask through the contact form if you want to do something beyond that.

Photographs and images are used under their respective licences and remain the property of their creators.

Acceptable use

Don’t scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, don’t attempt to break into it, and don’t use the contact form to send spam. We may block access where any of that happens.

Liability

This site is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of it or from reliance on anything published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised version. See also our privacy policy.
